Process and Review speeches and voting!

Voting will start today for Process and Review committee head, it will end Wednesday at midnight.
Here are the speeches I received, once the committee head is voted in- that person will decide how many they want on their committee and then it will be open to anyone that is interested.

The ballot has been emailed, please let me know if you did not receive it.

Thank you for the nomination for the P & R Committee. I think that being a non skater helps me to be a neutral position on issues that may come up with our team. I only want the best for the league and think I have shown this in my actions. I am not one to push my own button, but think I could be a good input for this committee. If you think I would be then give me your vote.

Here's my "speech"
I’d like to lead the Process & Review committee because it’s where I think I can be most helpful to the league, bringing people together to raise concerns and set a path for moving forward on solid footing. I’m in my 10th year on the board of another small nonprofit, and we’ve just gone through a major re-organization. I’ve also served with other organizations and committees back in Lafayette, and seen examples of things that worked and didn’t work for them. My day job is teaching in the Sport Management department at Lincoln College. Roller Derby is the fastest-growing sport in America right now, and we’re poised to take advantage of that. If I can help set us up to do that, I’d like to.

Ice, Jerzii, Moxie, and Smash all removed themselves from the running because they don't want to be the committee head.

Hahaha!! That was my speech? I can probably do better....

So here's my real speech:

I feel very passionately about this committee existing and being a part of it. I see the MissFits growing bigger and better and coming into our own. I think our potential for growth is immeasurable, but to do that, we need to conduct ourselves like an organization, structurally. I'd like to help the league identify the things we can do better, put processes into place that allows for continuity and put us into a position where we can move forward proactively rather than reactively. I'm 2 semesters away from finishing my degree in Business Management with a focus in Business Organizational Theory. In short, this is what I want to do when I grow up. I would love to see the ideas that I have, along with those of the other amazing ladies and gents who want to be a part of this, help take the MissFits to the next level.

I received one but since I was checking my emails on my phone it was deleted...can I have another sent pretty please?

Id like to work with a committee reviewing our current processes and creating new ones. I look at this as an opportunity to help this league continue to grow by anticipating needs and obstacles. I have created many SOP's at work by working with a team and talking over situations. In the past five years I have helped write new policies for my department. My supervisor often asks my opinion before moving forward because I am good at anticipating potential problems.

Its important to be willing to embrace change, but its also important to take what works and use it. I have an open mind and will listen to every idea. Id like this chance to make a difference and to work with people who are truly committed to this league.

This weekend as I was out and about and met many MissFits along the way, I heard a lot of really valuable input and suggestions. In order to keep it all in one place and better organize everything, I created an email address for the Processes and Planning committee.
