MissFits Glass Sale Fundraiser, Saturday, 12/10/11

The ISU Glass Dept. has offered to team up with the MissFits for their annual glass sale, scheduled for Saturday, December 10th from 9-5 at the Vitro Center (glass house) located at the intersection of Willow and Main in Normal, just south of U-High.
Our role will be to set up a table and sell glass works donated by students and derby peeps (Miss Sparklee Spitfire of the Push donated an adorable roller skate pendant to benefit our league. We will wear our derby garb, hand out schedules and flyers, make some $$, and get the word out about the Fits and our Dec. bout. John Miller, head of the glass dept. and extraordinary glass artist, is also making a large piece to put on silent auction at the sale, with half the proceeds going to us!
A sign up genius will be posted shortly to sign up to work the table. We'll probably just need a couple MissFits for a couple hours at a time throughout the day.

JMFK, there is a small glass shop by my house, starved rock glass. She does nice work. I could ask if she would donate something for this if you would like. I know a few friends who do glass beads too. Do we need more pieces?

Ice, we need all that we can get! This is a fundraiser specifically for the league, not a separate charity, so whatever can be donated would be greatly appreciated! If you get any donations, just ask what amount the artist would like the piece to be sold for, so we're not guessing at the value the day of. And, of course they can label their work to get their name out there. Thanks lady!!

I just wanted to check on what we should be wearing to this... Skates? No skates? Just wondering!!

I have the schedules from Gacy, do you want them at 9:00 or is it ok for me to bring them at 11 for my shift?

Oh, also...if anyone wants to wear their skates they can, but only if you feel REALLY comfy/steady on them...it's a lil crowded in the glass house and obviously we'll be around lots of breakable things. But I'm gonna wear mine while working in the hot shop, so if you're a dangerous motherfucker like myself, feel free to skate around a little!
