halftime and afterparty

So here is the low down for the halftime/afterparty meeting

Halftime

1st halftime show:

Pumpkin pie eating contest

-Adult one and a child one
-Common will pick out audience members for the contest
-we need still: pumpkin pies and waivers for participants to sign saying they are not allergic.

In between bouts:

Gamma phi circus

-teresa is contacting them for their availability
-back up will be kiddo gymnastics or drumline!

2nd halftime/bout #2:

Check presentation to the eye bank
-wrecka and skarebear will be presenting the check!

Afterparty:

We talked about all of our options. Made the decision to talk with the Knights of Columbus.
-Callie will be contacting them
-They will do this for the cheapest price yet
-food, outdoor patio with heat lamps
- dance floor and lots of bartenders
- nonny will be talking with liquid courage to deejay their and we will have karaoke!!

What we need:
-pumpkin pies
-Waivers made for the pie eating

We also need more crowd participation! Could we:
-pick an audience member to blow the lst jamtime whistle?
- have the jeerleaders throw out shirts
- nonny will be getting sonic and other sports mascots there
-we need some pump up the crowd music played in between!!
-any other simple ideas?

Can we do some sort of "sit with a rollergirl" arrangement for fans who are new to derby have a pair of MissFits sit with them and explain what's going on? Not sure how we'd arrange it and keep it non-creepy - maybe a "Sit With the MissFits" section?

Missfits will be uber busy with all that needs to be done during the bout so we might not have any extra bodies. But the crowd can always siti in the suicide seating and run into a skater or jeerleader.

Jeerleaders can def throw out shirts!! I'll talk to Ice about getting some chants and possibly dance numbers thrown together too.

About music for pumping up crowd, will
We need to set up our own tunes and
Sound system at interstate center? Or
What will already be there and is someone
Already assigned to this?

I'd be up for trying to get that set up if needed.
Just let me know.
Pump up and fun music definitely add to the
Atmosphere!

Lynn that would be great if you can put together a playlist! I know camp was going to ask dave to run scoreboard and sound. So maybe you can team up with him.

For this half time - pie eating contest, it would be great to have two or three people help with this to set up the chairs, table, some sort of protective ground covering, pies, etc. It would also be beneficial for the helpers to choose the people so we can get the ball rolling at half time. Most of the time I don't even know the period has ended because I'm so in the announcing zone, so it would help a ton for someone to get all up in my face with pumpkin pie-ness happenings.

Sounds good common! So we need 3-4 voulenteers to help with the pumpkinpie contest! Anyone up for this:)

You need a staff! Someone to be a spotter for you for all the stuff that's going on. And I don't know what all else - sideline reporter, color man, water boy, pearl cleaner and restringer?

There should be a name for a Denominatrix's assistant that will lead to snickering, but I guess it's not late enough in the day for my dirty mind to kick in properly.

I have someone checking with Bloomington Township Fire about the EMT and ambulance will let you know what I find out.

How many pies do you think you'll need????? And are we buying them or making them?

WHich ever way is free!! We will prolly need around 10 pies. So if if have peeps to make them that would rock! w

We will get some sort of sign up put up which will coordinate with the main signup for the whole bout day! But yes baking them ourselfs seem to be the best option! Patches great idea about a pie baking party!

I can do the taste test, everyone just make one extra for me to sample!

Quick question - are these contestants going to be eating whole pies, or just a slice? Because that would affect how many pies we would need.

you'll probably need a tarp cuz I bet pie will end up getting all over and you don't want that smeared on the track.

I am more then willing to purchase some pies for this! You wouldn't want to eat my pies....trust me.

So if the contestants are eating a whole pie will we wait until someone gets done with a whole pie or will we have a time limit set and whoever eats the most in that time wins? I'm just kinda thinking that children won't really be able to eat an entire pie!! But maybe they can, what do I know about children!! LMAO

perhaps it can be sliced for the kids n whole for the adults? n it should totally have a time limit. n yes about the tarp. can we put it on the list of needs from jackers?
