2/25 Polar Plunge for Special Olympics

The way they had it set up last year was new, and it didn't work as well as years past. I hope they dont have it set up that way again. You.could go to www.soill.org for more info on spectators getting closer, it would be separate from your donations and he would get a wristband.

I just got the e-mail, and we're Team #9 to Plunge!

They'll bring us out to the beach at Noon. If it's warm enough, spectators will want to get there early to get a good spot to watch. For $25, you can get a prime viewing/photography spot and a "Too Chicken to Plunge!" t-shirt. Registration for that begins at 10:30.

Last year, the Frozen 5-0 (the first team to go) were pretty amazing. Don't be late

Ok, plungers- I know I'm gonna need a bloody mary or five to jump into the lake when the weather is calling for 19 degrees...it's tradition! Who's down for breakfast and drinks in the a.m.? I think we went to that Greek place with melty cheese last year...what's that place called?!

Garden of Paradise! And yes, I'm in! However, I was a bad little Missfit and didn't pre-check-in, so I should get to Miller Park by 10:30 to check in.

Sounds good to me! Maybe it should be 9:00 am though because sometimes Garden Of Paradise can be a little crowded and we might need to wait!

I'm gonna try to make it to town early so I can eat and drink with you ladies before freezing our tutus off!

Can someone please post how much the team earned for the Special Olympics once that amount is known? I want to make sure to acknowledge the Missfits for doing this event on our Facebook page. And, also, GO YOU CRAZY MISSFITS! (the emoticon would represent me if I took the Polar Plunge).

Reading this makes me sad! I so wish I could get a bloody mary and do the plunge again this year but instead I'm typing this from work. Have fun and awesome job raising so much this year!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jerzii, Bart, and any others who missed out on the Polar Plunge -

Y'know, and I mean this truly, once you're out of the water for a few minutes & the shivering stops, it's pretty refreshing. A lot like going to the European spa retreats where you go from hot steamrooms to cold plunge baths, but you don't have to share the mud pool with a bunch of naked elderly Russians.

Clearly, we need a MissFits weekend at a hot springs resort (with the cold plunge, or some handily placed snow) for the benefit of anyone who missed the Polar Plunge.

Or we could just let everyone who missed this weekend get really drunk & go jump in the pond next weekend - we'd probably have to do it at night, but that just makes it more fun, right?
