Bout Beneficiary

We need to choose a beneficiary for the next bout. The bout planning committee has narrowed down some options. This poll will only run for two days, so get your opinion in on who this bout should benefit. If you have ideas for FUTURE bouts (not this one) please feel free to post those ideas here. Thanks!

My boss keeps asking about a bout to benefit Heartland Head Start. Just an FYI.

Nope, none of them. There are a lot of agencies and non-profits in this community.

My mister's daughters both play for the miracle league! It is pretty awesome. They give kids who could never ever play baseball a chance to play and have fun.

We haven't bouted for any of those but we did a couple wreathes for the baby fold. Just to clarify for ice:)

I thought we donated to baby fold... but it was the boys and girls club i was thinking of from the monster bout...

The 04/27 bout will benefit Big Brother Big Sister. Thanks everyone for your feedback.

I'm bumping this--any other ideas for bout beneficiaries? At this time, there are two more home bouts planned (potentially more). Other than Big Brother Big Sister, these were the top contendors: Miracle League of Central IL, Miller Park Zoo, and Baby Fold. We will likely choose these soon, so post ideas if you have any. Otherwise, we will probably choose from what has already been polled on.

Let me get more details on this, but when we were at WJBC it was mentioned that there is someone paying all the costs to build a Habitat Home for a family and needs to raise $30,000. Even if it's not a bout, it would be nice to chip in a little. Thoughts? I'll gather more info....

Ideally, I'd like to see that we donate to a different organization each time, as there are about a million options (okay, a few hundred) in this community. As we've already helped Habitat for Humanity, I would personally prefer that we choose organizations that have not already benefited. There are organizations that want us to do an annual bout, and I just don't think it's good to get into that practice. The more organizations we can help, the more publicity we get from helping. That's my opinion only, however.

We didn't actually help habitat. Under Tim's bout plan we lost them money. We had no choices in anything tho-he spent needless money.

Miracle League would probably bring in a good crowd as long as we get them to help us market it. There are a lot of families involved in it.
