Hiatus and Team Captains

The board met and talked about a hiatus for the holidays. A vote has been sent out to vote to see if we take a hiatus. The last practice would be 12/19 and would resume on 1/6. Please make sure to vote. Also please check every folder in your email to before you let us know you didn't receive an email. Please post here if you didn't receive one.

We also discussed home teams revoting new captains. It was decided that you can do this at anytime among your teams. Newly eligble skaters will be drafted after the new year. IF you have any questions please feel free to ask us!

Does it make sense to wait to draft to teams until it gets closer to the home season (mid 2013)? Just wondering, because nothing will be happening with the home teams until later in the year and things may look a lot different in regards to the team needs and composition. In addition, if we are having another round of meat in January, only one draft will need to take place. I know that when I was drafted to a team in October 2011, there were two rounds of meat who were drafted together. Just a thought.

I would really like to see the draft happen a little later too, having been thru a draft several times its not at all an easy process and it seems like it would be much more benificial for capts to get to know the new girls a bit more and have time to orginize things a little.

I would like to clarify that voting team captains is for the season 2013. Each team will hold their own vote. The quakes have had several captain changes this season and just voted in Ice as a captain. So if they agree to revote they can, but if they are all ok for keeping their two captains for 2013 then that is fine. And we can def look into having the draft later on:)
