Soooo, if we're not on the list, does that mean we probably won't be on skates? Just curious...

Re: Tryouts 3/14 and 3/15
Wrecks, I think you just need to bring $5 to skate.
I know they didn't want to require everyone to be on skates since we have to pay too, so I think it's your choice.

Ok, I'll bring my $5/gear just in case I am handed a "skate-y" job. Thanks!

Re: Tryouts 3/14 and 3/15
Should we bring our gear even if we're not skating for the potentials to try on or is that something we're going to do on Saturday?

Re: Tryouts 3/14 and 3/15
They will be trying on gear at the mixer if they make it, if you aren't skating you don't need to bring your gear.
If you aren't on the list, it just means you aren't running a group, but you could still be skating.

Re: Tryouts 3/14 and 3/15
I love the idea of a game with them. But freeze tag would have to be different then crawling thru their legs...they dont have knee pads. I also think they would enjoy watching us play queen of the rink or something where we get our hits on!

Re: Tryouts 3/14 and 3/15
Yeah but the ones we accept will get to see a full on scrimmage on Saturday! I think it would be fun to play a game where they get to utilize their skating time since they paid to skate...How about freeze tag with a booty block or shoulder bump to unfreeze someone? Or the amoeba one where you have to make a chain and keep "reproducing" everytime you catch someone?

Re: Tryouts 3/14 and 3/15
I think bumping might knock them down....and some of them are already pretty unstable and w no pads yowza. I like yr idea of the chain game. It will also help them feel a little more comfortable around each other since they will have to tuch each other hee

Re: Tryouts 3/14 and 3/15
I would say nothing to make them fall, since they don't have pads and nothing that involves on the spot stoping. Unless ofcourse you like your meat splattered against Mickey and Minnie
Re: Tryouts 3/14 and 3/15
I gotta say that when I was at the last tryout and stayed after for a little bit, it was awesome to watch you all play Queen of the Rink!
Great work last night, Freshmeat Committee!

I'm with Camp here. No mouthguards or pads. We may want to stay away from the hitting business. Can't wait. See you all tonight.

Re: Tryouts 3/14 and 3/15
Any/all sounds great to me! I'd just suggest that we build in a little time for post-skating stretching, even if it means taking it from the pre-skating stretching. Stretching while warm is really important to keep those muscles from seizing up after they get home, especially since most of them are using muscles they're not used to using!
As far as an activity for the end, what about the limbo?

Falling or crawling with no pads. . . even in a freeze tag type situation is no good in my book.
And:
Did someone say 'hitting bitches'?
I clearly heard 'hitting bitches'.

Re: Tryouts 3/14 and 3/15
I had planned to be here both nights, but Josh's schedule got switched last night and I haven't been able to find a sitter today...Urgh. I think I'm out. I told ACJ earlier, so I'd bet she'll have someone to work with Snarker in my place. But if you are skating tonight and weren't there last night, can someone work with group #2 with Snarker?
Any thoughts? Is anyone bringing their sitting-aged kids who would want to play with a 3yr old for an hour or so? Anyone dying to babysit?
