Paint the Town

So, we are going to do Paint the Town a little differently this time. We are identifying where we want signs hung, then whoever wants to help will be given a grouping (of similar locations) and will be able to hang their posters whenever they want (somewhat). I should have the posters on Friday. I can hand out the posters whenever after that, but they should by hung by Tuesday evening at the latest. Who wants a chunk? It shouldn't take more than 30-45 minutes, I would think!

i can take a stack i would like to go with someone though!! im more than willing to talk to businesses i just like to have backup!! i am available monday all day and tuesday before 4pm!

I think this is a much better idea, and this will hit more people in more locations. I will take a stack and hit up some places!

Okay, so this is what PR came up with in regard to targets. When you are posting, please record which locations did not allow posters (so we know for next time), and feel free to go to any locations along the way that seem like good targets that were forgotten about. Make sure to add them to our list for next time, though. WE WANT TO KEEP THIS AS A RUNNING LIST, SO PLEASE RECORD ANY CHANGES THAT NEED TO HAPPEN FOR NEXT TIME, SO WE DON'T WASTE OUR TIME/MISS VALUABLE PR SPOTS. If a location will not let you post, please see if they will hang in their breakroom, as we are trying to target bigger/higher traffic locations that will likely have high numbers of employees at the very least. Here are the groups, pick the one that you want, and recruit someone to go with you. I am anticipating that we will have posters in hand on Monday night, so we will push back hanging deadlines to Thursday. I will post confirmation when I have the posters, and we can all meet up for distribution of them (that's right, I'm a poster dealer). So, here goes:

I've always done/liked downtown Normal ("uptown" as most call it), so if it's alright, I'd like a stack for that area. I will get my stack at practice wednesday!

I can help anytime after 10:30 pm this week. I know my schedule blows. I can do any of the late night Bloomington businesses.

Laursony-please add smokers den and university liquors to the yes pile. Bobzbay and smoking aces tattoo shop should be added to the list as well. I hang w/ the elite.

One last note, shouldn't six strings be promoting it with at least a flier. I know they are making a pretty penny on us. Why wouldn't they want more people to come and drink on their valuable liquor license.

Eeeeep and I finally get to attend practice tom!!!!!!

I have also been hangin up a flier at the state farm bldg I am in, which the regional iffice. Also, I have Shannon's and the Keepsake Elemant as sponsors, so should be able to hang up there and I will handle that.

Sunny D will take whatever group of places needs to be done, maybe group #1. We're going to do this on Thursday during the day!

WOW--thanks so much to everyone who volunteered to help!! Sunny and Nonny, looks like we got it covered, I guess, but we are going to attack cars at the mall with some smaller flyers the few days before the bout. If you would still like to help, perhaps you could do this instead. Again, thanks again everyone for being so awesome!

But I did run out of flyers! Six strings, mulligans, killarneys and common ground can all be added to the yes list!!! And I only made it a block from home.

So Ben and I had wonderful luck at the mall!! We decided to hand out the small flyers there to most of the stores and everyone was wonderful and excited about it! Everyone except Maurices. Don't ever try to give Maurices a flyer, they were downright rude and threw our flyer out right in front of us! Everywhere else on our list was a go as well and we also went to Complete Nutrition and Friar Tuck. I still have to go to Reeds and Circle Lanes b/c they were closed and The Moose. I will get those taken care of this weekend!

So, now that flyers are posted---thanks everyone, we need to attack some cars at the mall/meijer/wherever...I think we will have 100-200 sheets to put on cars. Nonny, Melle, and Sunny, if I'm not wrong, I think you were interested in doing this. If you still are, when does it make sense to do this? I would think Thursday at the latest this week.

Could I get a stack to put on the counter at the Coffeehound?

Rita, just as an FYI, the ones for cars aren't flyers of the bout poster---those are already gone between hanging, the parade, and the bake sale. These ones are going to be printed on white paper, with our logo and a few brief snippets of information about the bout. Were you still interested?

do we have any posters left at all i still dont have 1 at petco and the bistro doesnt either. ill take any leftovers anyone has so i can pass them out downtown wed thurs or fri when im out!
