Next week is National Women Build Week w/ Habitat for Humanity. They need some building help Wed May 4 (morning) & Fri May 6 (morning & afternoon). No experience necessary, it's for a great cause, & it's awesome fun. Get a group together & wear your MissFits shirts. The news is usually out there the first week. Sign up online

Just a little FYI, Habitat is working on a roller derby tournament to help us out, I think it would be awesome to go help them out!
Friday would work for me, anyone interested in going with me?

I just talked with Toni and she is SO EXCITED! She is emailing me some more information today and I will have a release form for everyone to fill out tonight at practice.
The morning slot is 8-12, the afternoon slot is 1-4. I am going to try to make it to the morning slot, but I don't get off work until 8:00 and I work out of town. Is anyone interested in going in the afternoon?
She said Missfits t-shirts would be perfect, jeans and tennis shoes if you can!

I will email all interested parties the email I received from Toni at Habitat. There is a map, site information and a safety waiver you need to print out and sign.

Aaron and I are just back from the morning shift - we were the only MissFits there, and we had a great time! I can say that I spent the WHOLE morning working on wall-building! If I didn't have another volunteer commitment this afternoon I'd go back, and we both want to volunteer again.
It's warming up, so take lots of water and wear sunscreen. Bring work gloves if you have them. Hope you have as much fun as we did!

By the way, Shannon mentioned that funds are tight right now, which will make going to the bout a little tough. We have a spare ticket after the rescheduling, so I'm going to pass that one on to her. Does anyone else have a leftover that you're not using, and you'd be willing to donate? For those of you who don't know - Shannon is the one who designed our fabulous logo, and she lives right next door to the house we're building, also in a Habitat for Humanity house. How cool is that?

I think that since she did all the work on the programs we could comp her a ticket?? I will make sure with Painbow and Snarker, but I feel like that could be an option.
