Important new decisions made by the board

Post  Ass.Crack.Jack on Sun Mar 13, 2011 11:04 am

The board met on Thursday and these were a few important decisions we made.

1. We have revised the Attendance/Absence Policy:
There are 14 practices in March, you must attend 50% of ALL practices (7 practices)or 75% of just vet practices (Wednesday and Saturday) (5 vet practices)
Monday is not required, but can be used to make up a missed practice (or for just general extra skating time)

2. If you are coming late to practices, or leaving early you are only hurting yourself. Captains are paying attention to your attendance, and it is ultimately up to them how much you play in a bout.
The league is paying per person, so please be conscious of that when leaving early or coming late. (We understand there are occasional circumstances, but please don't make it habit)

3. League meetings will now be quarterly, rather than monthly! Please stay tuned for dates.

4. Annie Mattingly is our OFFICIAL photographer. As our official photographer she is the only photographer we should be promoting. She does a lot of work for free for the Missfits, and we need to make sure we are helping her get her name out there.
Headshots are only to be done by Annie from here on out.
She will have some information at our merch table at the bout. Please make sure if someone asks you about the photos, you are telling them about her. She is the one that did our calendars, headshots and captains photos for the bout.
She will continue to put her logo on photos done for us, but not our headshots. If you are using a photo that she took, please give her credit for it.

NEWNESS 4/23

The board would like you to know:
1. There has been some concern about the Twin Cities bout on May 21st. Some people were worried that we wouldn't be prepared and that we are going to get beat really bad.
A contract has already been signed, and in light of the recent "day we do not speak of" we feel like we can not back out of a contract. It would not look good on our league, and we want to maintain a positive relationship with Twin Cities. They are being kind enough to come run our practice today, and help us out. They are also working on a fair roster, no A Team members. It should be a good learning experience, we learned a ton from scrimmaging them a few weeks ago.
*If you don't feel comfortable playing, we understand but please let us know so we can fill your spot*

2. The next league draft and rankings will be done in September, that will be 6 months since the first one. We felt like this would be a sufficient amount of time for the new freshmeat to be ready.
-If you haven't been drafted yet, you won't be drafted until September, BUT you are still eligible to bout and you will just be farmed out to whichever team needs you. There are even talks of a little farm team.
-Just because you are eligible to be drafted in September, does not mean that a team HAS to take you.
-We will most likely have enough people to get 1 more team by then as well!
-Once we do the draft at the beginning of September, we will have to have another draft party. How do you all feel about HOMECOMING?!?! September 9th!!!! We just have to dance about it...

3. The next round of tryouts will be June 6th and 7th (pending confirmation from SNP) May is just too busy, so we pushed it back just a little. We will take 15 more freshmeat this round, and then we will be on a recruiting freeze until September.

4. We would like to do a league meeting instead of scrimmage on May 7th, 4-6 PM at Rollingbrook park. It will be a little picnic, so bring a dish to share.
Bring your skates, we can have some outdoor skating time after.
Kiddos are more than welcome as well!
