A poll will be sent for TC co heads by Sunday. Here are your committee co head nominees who accepted and their speeches:

PR/Fundraising - Mollz Deep, Bart Hickey
Hello ladies! First and foremost, I’d like to say thanks for the nomination for PR/Fundraising co-head. I can’t believe what I have gotten myself into in the last year- playing derby was something I never expected myself to accomplish, and then I dove into the business side of it. Holy mother of god. I had no clue how much work went into this league. I think we’re the coolest thing to hit this town, and we need the rest of the community to realize that. So far I have loved participating in this committee for the past 5 months, and to see every event unfold flawlessly by Lynn and Laursony. I have tried on the leadership role within this committee the past couple of months, such as organizing the Putt Putt fundraiser, running and updating the MissFit Facebook page (including creating events for the community to follow), and this weekend I will be overseeing the Car Wash fundraiser (organizing donated items, set up/clean up).  It was slightly intimidating to get into the swing of things (how many times is too many times to call Pheasant Lanes in one day?), but I get pretty excited the closer we get to our fundraisers to see how successful we are!
As far as fundraisers go, I would like to space them out over the season to prevent burn out within the league and the community from attending too many events. I think we could raise more money and attention if we had more fundraisers throughout the year, but spread out every month or 6 weeks (but of course I want to hear everyone’s opinion on this). Regardless if I become co-head or not, I will encourage the entire league to get involved in PR, even if it means you wear your MissFit shirt to the Blues Festival, or chalk up the campuses before a bout. It takes a village to raise a child! And that precious 3 year old child has a lot of potential and growing to do!
So I’m thrilled to be nominated. But I’m also eager to hear if anyone has ideas floating around in their juicy brains. So I’d be ever so happy to be co-head - but even if I’m not- I’ll do everything I can to help make this league fabulous!
Mollz Deep

I am very excited to be nominated for the PR Fundraising Co-Head. I apologize for the late acceptance. Work has been heck it. I have spent a lot of time promoting our bouts and events around the Blono area since our first bout at the Coliseum. Doing this I have learned how to promote our league and events positively with diverse businesses and business owners. I look forward if elected to start working closer with our sponsors and the community. I have showed support and have attended at least 90% or all our fundraising events and appreciate the hard work that it takes to put an event together and want/need to get more hands on. I don’t really know what else I can say other than if elected I’ll take on the responsibilities and fun this committee offers full force.
Bart Hickey

Hey guys!!  I appreciate being nominated for the Co-Head position for fundraising/PR, but at this time I will graciously decline.  Maybe next time around, once I feel like I've gained some more experience.
Thanks
Norm

Patches – Hi ladies! I would like to decline my nomination for PR Co-Head. I cannot commit the needed time to this position right now. Thanks!

Jackers - declined
Wrecka - declined
Bates – declined

Interleague - Camp, (nominations being taken for 1 other co-head)
I have been CO-Head of interleague for close to a year now and I feel like my job is just right for me.  I have been the main contact for other leagues and would love to continue with that.  Interleague is in the midst of planning for next season and I would like to continue this project, and hopefully set up a fantastic season for our home and travel teams for next year.  So pretty please vote for me Smile

XOXO
Camp

Smash - I am declining my nomination for interleague co-chair. I think Camp is much more versed in what leagues are at our level!
I would be interested in stayin on the committee though, if that is a possibility.
Also - if no one else runs, or only 1 person runs, I will step up to b co-chair......?

Chete – declined
Wrecka - declined

FreshMeat - Sick, Ward
Here is our speech for FM head

Hey MissFits!
We are both committed to running FM for this next season and have made many plans to do it together. Please vote for us! Thank you!

Ward and Sick

P&P - chAos (nominations being taken for 1 other co-head)
I'm honored and excited to be nominated for such an important league position. I am already doing all I can to get P&P up to date and current policies and league structure reexamined to help make the MissFits even better than we already are.  I am confident that I can take on this responsibility and look forward to working for all you amazing ladies.

NSOs - Crystal, Johnny, Wreaka (all 3 accepted and stated that they would not mind 3 like last season)

Hey Folks,

I feel like the time flew by!

I would like to continue to co-head the NSO Committee, and accept the nomination. I started my first term as HNSO feeling really out of my depth and unprepared. As I recall--my first speech went a lot like: "Well, if you don't have anyone else...". When nothing caught fire, I started feeling more confident in my position,  and want to be a continuing force in furthering the asset of strong and organized NSO's within our league.

I'm still in the throes of working on a training class for NSO's--working on a PowerPoint presentation that will make the training more readily available. It's going a bit more slowly than I thought it might (partially because I've been away from home for a lot of weekends this summer). I anticipate it should be done in the next few weeks or so.

We've got our season of home-bouts coming up, organization, participation, and communication are key for making sure that we have strong people in positions that they are comfortable with, and effective in. I believe that even non-sanctioned bouts are important to make sure we are compliant to WFTDA standards, and if voted in, intend to run them as such.

I appreciate the experience I've had thus far to be a part of the MissFits, and intend to continue with my efforts whether voted as HNSO, or not.

Thank you,
--Crystal Stremlau

Dearest MissFits,
I think it's fairly obvious to a majority of the league that the nomination as NSO co-head is a wonderful honor.  I accept the nomination wholeheartedly and the following will detail my experience, goals, etc.

I will start with a quick brief history of my roller derby "career," since experience is both important and needed in a head or co-head position.  I was first invited to a Peoria Push practice in January of 2011 and, being unemployed at the time, decided to check my anxiety at the door and check it out.  My first practice, I was given a lot of details about derby names and personalities and met some great people, but the best part of the night was my introduction to roller derby and score keeping.  I absolutely fell head over heels for the details involved, the rawrsponsibility the team of NSOs shares, and the camaraderie of the sport in general.  Over time, through a bit of a learning curve and with lots of support from league mates, I learned how to penalty track, and finally, how to input statistics into the WFTDA spreadsheets and read most of the information in them.  Admittedly, I have not worked in all available NSO positions, but I am very willing to try and master each one in the coming months with help from knowledgeable people around the league.  Which brings me to my next point: goals.  If given the responsibility of NSO co-head, I plan on learning everything I can about all the positions and filling my brain with the knowledge to explain anything about positions and statistics to anyone who asks.  My past with helping other leagues during bouts has gotten me to a point of readiness that I believe could be valuable to the MissFits league.  Obviously, on bout day, things don't always go totally according to plan, but being one step ahead of the game before bout day even comes is something I would like to implement.  I would work with committees to get roster information so I can have stat sheets printed with names and skater numbers ready to go.  I'd like to get a separate list of NSOs with contact information and all positions they are capable of working during bouts and scrimmages.  In addition to duties as an NSO, I would also work closely with the rest of the league to help out in any way possible to make this league better and increasingly better.  I am fairly new to this league, but I feel I have a lot to offer if given the job and I appreciate the consideration very much.  Thank you!

My speech for NSO:
Dear Missfits:
I am not a skater.  But I like them.  I think our NSO group is great and would like to assist in keeping it that way.  My goals in this position would be to educate all members on NSO positions and roles, as well as work to get some more solid volunteers.  That shouldn’t be too hard because I’m charming as fuck.  I would be happy to work with any of the other nominees to continue to have the best and most organized group of NSOs of any league ever.

Sincerely,

Wrecka Holmes

Training (2) - Nominees to be voted on (poll will be sent to by Sunday)
As for the training committee nomination, I am excited to accept that one!
I have been on training committee and a part of freshmeat training almost since the beginning. I am passionate about finding new ways for us to grow as skaters and athletes. I am interested in the way our bodies work and enjoy trying to find modifications if something isn't working. Plus you know I always enjoy a good endurance practice. Our training committee has gone through a lot of changes to try to accommodate the needs of all skaters, and I am proud to see the hard work pay off. Being a part of training committee has brought it's own set of challenges, but we have all pulled together to try to streamline our processes to make it easier on everyone. If I am voted co-head of training committee, I plan on continuing those efforts and helping us move forward as better skaters and as an overall stronger league. Thanks for the nominations and best of luck to ALL the nominees!

Hey there. Here is my speech for committee head. Have a lovely day!
Missfits! Thank you for nominating me for cohead of training committee (whoever you are). I would like to make your roller derby dreams come true. I've been a part of the mean green machine that is the training committee for 2 seasons now. It's been a swell ride but I want to take things to the next level. I see a lot of potential energy in our league and I want to help convert that energy into kinetic energy.  I have a lot of ideas I'm excited to share and implement in the coming future. I want to get more Missfit hands on deck to up the ante of our training program. I want more people to be a part of their own personal success story as well as that of the league.  We've got places to go Missfits and I want to help take us there but it is going to be a journey. I want to work hard, play hard, and train like beasts. If that sounds like fun to you than please elect me as cohead of training committee. I can't promise it will be all unicorns and rainbows, some days will be tough. and sweaty. and grueling. I can promise that it will be worth it, that it will bring us to bring us to new and exciting levels. A healthy combination of glitter and grit. I see good things in the future and I want to help bring those things to fruition. Elect me and I will work my butt off to make our derby dreams a reality. Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger!!
Derby Love,
Rita Rogue

J.M.F.K. TC co-head speech
Dear MissFits,
I have been the co-head of the training committee for nearly two seasons now. It is a job that I love dearly, and am very dedicated to. I would be honored to continue as co-head if re-elected.
I am proud of the progress our league has made in regards to training and structure over the past couple years, and I am also excited for change and look forward to input from the league, along with a new co-head (if I am re-elected) regarding our training needs and wants for the remainder of this season and beyond.
I have always aspired to provide our league members with positive practice experiences to encourage personal skill advancement along with teamwork, and that is something I will continue to do as TC co-head, if re-elected.
The Training Committee is my passion, and I only want what is best for our league as a whole, all the time. I feel like I’ve found my niche here and I would love to stay if you’ll have me.
Thanks so much for your consideration,
xo J.M.F.K.

I am declining the nomination for co-heading training committee.  I could not give it my all right now.  But, thank you!!

I'm gonna jump right in to this whole chair position thing, but I guess no one has checked the P&P email for awhile. Howser doesn't have the info to pass along to me. Also when would I have forum access to post as P&P? There's a lot of stuff that needs league input

So I have a question, what do we do about a co-head for P&P? I mean chaos is amazing and does so much work and should most def be head, but the job is huge. If something should happen that chaos would need to take some time off we would be in a situation like we are now where no one is running this committee. We need something that will be just as dedicated and hard working as her. If I could co-head 2 committees I totally would work with chaos cause she's my hero!
