I was going to ask the same thing. Also is this a kid friendly event? I have had a few peeps ask me.

Yes, MissFits should buy tickets. And kids are welcome to come to the movie.

I am picking up printed tickets for us to sell this week (hopefully tonight).

We'll talk a little more about it at our league meeting.

As discussed last night…here is the scoop with Derby Baby tickets:

* Check out tickets with either Laursony or me. We will have them at practices from now on.

* If you sell 5 or more tickets (non-MissFits please), you get one free for yourself! *

Please try to sell at least 5! Our goal is to have at least 200 in attendance. This will not only make this a very successful and fun fundraiser; but also benefit and promote a good relationship with the Castle. (Tickets are $8 pre-sale, but will be $10 at the door.)

* Please return money to us whenever you receive it. *

* Any unsold tickets must get back to us before the event, or you will have to pay for them. *

More to follow on some of the other activities we will be planning during this event…

The Castle's street team is posting our flyers around Blm/Normal for this event (yay!). They usually do downtown Blm/uptown Normal/ISU campus/veterans.

I kept about 10 flyers for those who may have good locations at your workplace to post. Please pick one up from me tonight or tomorrow, if that is the case.

I also have more tickets for people to buy or sell!

I'm gonna need a ticket! Also, I talked w/ some dude the other night when I was there about merch so we should be good there. It would be super awesome of someone had pegs that fit into slat boards though. Kinda random, but would help. . (Plus we are a pretty random bunch)

Does anyone have some fabric or a long rug that could be used as a "red carpet" or "green carpet"?

This is a week away! Yay!

Besides the actual showing of the movie, here is what we have planned:

* Make this a red (or green) carpet event, with 1-2 photographers taking unposed paparazzi-style pictures for the hour prior to show. We will be posting these on our fan page, and anyone tagged gets entered once in a drawing for 2 tickets to our home bout. Pictures will be up by Monday and drawing will occur Friday, March 8th.
* Glitter Fairy Tattoos (Thanks to Bates!)
* Selling raffle tickets for a gift basket, winner to be announced after show.
* MissFit waitresses to serve drinks for tips.
* Arm-wrestle a derby girl after show
* Drink specials (at least after show...but still working out details.)

We will leave it up to each of you what you want to wear. Glam it up or not. It's all good, as long as positively representing the MissFits.

I just put one slot for the person running the arm-wrestling. I'm sure you will have no problem gathering recruits to participate!

Well, well..that was a fun night! The Castle was an awesome host, and I hope everyone liked 'Derby, Baby'. It was a great turnout, thanks to all of you.

We greatly appreciated the Glitter Fairy and Wildstyle Face Painting coming out too, plus all the MissFits helping with waitressing, raffles, merch, and arm wrestling. It really worked out well! We do need to start having arm wrestling drills so our league wins next time tho.

After deducting a couple of expenses with the Castle and the movie production company, we raised $1215. Wow.

Add to that $124 for MissFit merch, and a % of the derby baby merch sales we will get of about $50.

Rock on.

Yeah, I lost 3 times at arm wrestling. Maybe I should have taken that 7 year old.

Actually Gwen is 6. And thank you so much for doing that because you really made her day! Now she wants to arm wrestle everyone.

It was super cute, Ice and Sweeets. Gwen sat there so seriously with her back straight and was ready to take Sweeet Thang down--which she did!!
