06/24/2012 Freedom Festival

We have been contacted to do the Saybrook Freedom Festival parade on June 24 (as well as a autographing opportunity, if desired). My only concern is that it is the same weekend as Relay for life (Sunday though, while relay is Friday/Saturday). We also have a Monicals fundraiser that week, an Allstars away bout the weekend before, and a home bout the weekend after. Saybrook is 30 miles away. Before I confirm this event, I would like to see who thinks they could attend (even though I realize that it is difficult to make definite plans this far out). I think it is a great way to get our name/sport out to surrounding communities to the east, so it would be great to do if possible.

So does silence on this post mean that we aren't interested, or does it mean that we can't commit so far out? If we aren't interested, that's cool, I just need to let the contact know.

There are enough of us that we should have more then a handful at every event. This might get some interest for people to go to our June 30th home bout. What time would this be?

It moght be good PR, but thats a lot of MissFit action over 2 weeks. We dont want people to burn out and like Nonny said, we should have more than a handful of people there.

a man totally accosted me about this yesterday at the verizon store.

well, not really accosted, but he saw my jacket, came over, surprised me and talked with me about it for awhile. (the Saybrook festival)

after that, a woman asked me about our next bout and said all kinds of nice things about Nonny.

after they both walked away, the verizon guy helping me said, "Ok...so I have to ask..are you some type of a celebrity or something?" Ha. I said, no, I'm a MissFit.

Okay, the contact for the Saybrook Festival and the PR committee decided, since we could not commit at this point, that in lieu of going to the parade/signing we would donate a basket (of bout tickets, a shirt, etc) instead. So, cross this off of events!
